We are looking for a Senior Control System Engineer to join our Mississauga office.

Responsibilities:

• Lead hardware and software development, commissioning and maintenance activities for PLC-based machine control systems, data acquisition and inspection systems, and other customized automated tooling used in nuclear facilities
• Design and implement modifications to existing control system hardware and software
• Prepare required technical documentation to support design, testing, verification and operational activities
• Coordinate work with small team of engineers and technologists to ensure deliverables are prepared in accordance with schedule and budget requirements
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and find solutions to problems with control system hardware & software
• Review technical documents or designs made by others and provide sound feedback to ensure reliability, robustness and efficiency of the design solution
• Identify tooling improvements to increase reliability and efficiency
• Perform duties in a radiation environment when required

Qualifications:

• Honours Degree from a University of recognized standing plus either a Masters degree or a minimum of 5 years pertinent practical experience with control system hardware and software development in industrial applications
• Proven experience with PLC software design, development (IEC 61131 standard), maintenance and configuration management
• Proven experience with SCADA software development
• Proven experience with troubleshooting PLC-based automated equipment
• Leadership experience of technical teams is an asset
• Must be effective in a multi-discipline team environment
• Results oriented, takes ownership of tasks assigned
• Must be able to work to tight deadlines and financial controls
• Proven written and oral communication skills
• Experience with Siemens Step 7 PLC software is an asset
• Experience with National Instruments LabView software is an asset
• Field experience in an industrial plant is an asset
