If you have a keen interest in the complex challenges the energy sector and achieving NetZero has to offer, you could be working with a variety of clients as a Principal or Senior Consultant within our Energy Networks team based from Epsom, Leeds, Birmingham, or Glasgow.

Flexible Location - Epsom, Leeds, Birmingham or Glasgow.

Your purpose will be:

You will be working in our Energy Networks business building strong and trusted relationships internally and externally with our clients. You’ll enjoy working with others, sometimes directly at client sites, sometime remote and sometimes from our offices. You’ll be client focused – being able to interface with clients, understand their needs and contribute to delivering successful projects. The ever-changing conditions of the energy industry means we need individuals who can adapt, change and thrive when working in dynamic environments.

By using your experience within the GB energy industry, you’ll be providing clients with technical, commercial and / or regulatory advice, across a range of different projects. You will enjoy reviewing detail and summarising your analysis and assessments into concise reports, as well as presenting findings to clients via meetings and workshops.

You’ll be delivering projects and liaising with experts from across the organisation to ensure the successful delivery of  projects. You’ll be guiding others to grow too, by overseeing work from Engineers and Graduate Engineers from across the team in the delivery of your projects.

What can you bring?

Essential Qualifications -

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Chartered Engineer through the IET or working towards.

Essential Criteria -

  • A strong understanding of the GB energy sector and of the importance that future projects will have in achieving Net Zero.
  • Strong written communication skills that will enable you to summarise findings in concise reports.
  • Good knowledge of electrical codes and standards and regulatory/financial incentives for transmission and distribution network investment in GB.
  • A love of building and maintaining strong relationships through regular communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Criteria -

  • Experience in mentoring junior staff in task delivery.
  • Experience in regulatory and technical due diligence (vendor or buyer side) of transmission and distribution network assets.
  • Experience in business plan submissions for regulated utilities and/or innovation project developments.
