Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Atkins are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in UAE.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the field of geotechnical engineering either with civil consultancy or as a designer for a ground engineering contractor.

• Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant equivalent.

• Candidates will be asked to show how their experience demonstrates ability to:

• Assess complex geotechnical problems and deliver appropriate solutions.

• Be able to estimate man hour requirements for engineering execution or proposals.

• Take responsibility for man-hours and monitor cost impact of technical solutions.

• Design of retaining walls, slope stability analysis, foundation design (shallow and deep) & pile group
  analysis.

• Conversant with geotechnical analysis software like SLOPE/W, WALLAP, PIGLET, VDISP & REPUTE.

• Ability to carry out advanced geotechnical and soil structure interaction analysis using PLAXIS or FLAC would be an advantage.

• On-site experience in geotechnical investigation supervision and geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Producing high quality technical work including geotechnical analysis and design.

• Work as a team member within our growing geotechnical team

• Work closely with other disciplines such as Civils/Structures to provide cross-discipline solutions.

• Assist senior staff in the delivery of projects and offers.
