Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing building work;
• Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly;
• Supervising contracted staff;
• Ensuring projects meet agreed specifications, budgets or timescales;
• Providing technical advice and solving problems on site;
• Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork;
• Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities;
• Interact with client and team members to complete the assigned project on-time;
• Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives;
• Review and approve geotechnical designs developed by outside consultants;
• Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects;
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project manager.
  

Requirements:

• The successful applicant will have a degree in civil engineering or geology preferably with a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject (ideally MSc or equivalent);
• Member of an appropriate professional organisation, such as ICE or HKIE;
• Minimum 5 years of experience on site;
• Excellent interpersonal, technical and digital skills;
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients;
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
• Mandarin speaker is preferred;
• Willing to relocate to Southeast Asia
