Geotechnics is a newly created section in Atkins Norway Engineering (ENG). We are therefore looking for experienced geotechnical engineers who can independently run infrastructure projects in collaboration with other disciplines and our customers. With your expertise you will be central in the construction of the section and help to set the direction for further work.
You will be employed in the Geotechnics section and will report directly to the Section Leader.

You will operate in Norway but will be part of the Worldwide Atkins Community for Ground Engineering and Tunneling. You will have the opportunity to connect with specialists from other disciplines as well (e.g., bridges, structures, geology, engineering geology, rail, signal).

You will support the geotechnical team in solving compelling challenges within infrastructures and tunneling in our Norwegian multidisciplinary, challenging and multibillionaire projects.
It is strictly necessary that the resource is endowed with at least 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and, especially, design of foundations and retaining structures/soil improvement. The selected candidate is prepared over the standards and regulations used in Norway, Eurocodes and guidelines for design in the Norwegian technical landscape.
Your duties and responsibilities are:
- Contribute to interdisciplinary infrastructure projects within Geotechncis.
- Solve complex tasks within your own subject area and contribute with innovative, sustainable solutions.
- Ensure technical work is carried in compliance with the Atkins Technical Assurance Goals.
- Ensure Atkins Design Principles are followed.
- Producing and/or checking reports and drawings pertinent to the geotechnical discipline.
- Producing and/or checking geotechnical calculations and numerical FE models pertinent to the geotechnical discipline.
- Providing always up-to-date competence in line with the project needs for the tasks set.
- Share your experiences and knowledge between colleagues and guide younger colleagues within geotechnical engineering.
- Follow the Section Leader technical direction and PM guidance.
- Managing and maintaining technical risk register and adopting mitigating actions with regards to the specialization area.
- Produce and/or check the correct technical output to meet the project requirements.
- Follow the set standard for technical excellence in deliverables.
Furthermore, we want you to have more of the following qualifications:
- Experience from different phases of design.
- Experience from a consulting business, client or contractor.
- Knowledge of relevant standards, guidelines and tools used in geotechnical engineering.
- Experience with work methodology and processes within the different projects phases, knowledgeable of the technical challenges around numerical modeling and necessary interdisciplinary interaction.

- You have an education as geotechnical engineer (master / bachelor) with at least 5 years of experience in geotechnical design.
- Strong ability and desire to help develop and build a new section.
