Senior Lead Creative – Innovation and Experience
 

This is a truly exciting opportunity for a Senior Lead Creative to lead and support a variety of cross discipline projects and to become an influential member of a growing and highly talented team.
 

We’re looking for someone who is a natural initiative taker who brings out the best in the team. You will have a strong creative vision and be able to communicate clearly and persuasively to clients. You will have experience in developing a variety of outcomes across different creative disciplines with a focus on ensuring the approach of a project is focused on the experience and not dictated by technology.  
 

The successful candidate must be able to lead creative teams to produce their best work and always be pushing to ensure projects are taken to the next level. You’ll be adaptable to different stakeholders and grow to have a strong awareness of the different skills in the team, allowing you to challenge creativity, processes and overall improve the quality of delivery.
 

As a Senior Lead Creative you will join a focused part of our wider team who’s remit is to ensure projects are design and creatively led. Our talented team delivers innovative solutions across UX/UI design, development, identity/branding, 3D visualisation and virtual reality. We work in a fast paced, open and progressive environment which promotes a positive working culture of continuous improvement and a have a real hunger for design and technology. We offer a fantastic opportunity to flex your skills across different media whilst remaining hands on leading a variety of projects which can include leading the creative on an event, supporting the definition of a new customer experience, or having design input into a virtual reality / motion project. There’s a huge opportunity to bring greater value to our variety of engineering, infrastructure and architectural design projects, as well as looking to the future to how our service lines can be diversified.
 

Importantly, you will have a stand-out portfolio full of great conceptual work, displaying a real passion for design.
 

Responsibilities

  • Creatively leading project teams approach and direction
  • Support the management of design resource across technical projects to promote best design practices
  • Overview of scoping documents to ensure clients are receiving great value and high quality design and creative work.
  • Selection of project teams
  • Have an awareness of all mixed discipline projects and be able to jump in at any point to give creative guidance or hands on support
  • Communicate with new and existing clients to maintain an agency level of design and technical support
  • Challenge project teams to ensure products are design-led
  • Regular communication with Creative Director and Creative and Technical Leads to inform business decisions
  • Mentorship to junior team members through project teams.
     

Skills

  • Previous experience working in large scale mixed discipline projects
  • Excellent and confident organisational and communication skills
  • A passion for design and digital technology with an outstanding eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills and depth of knowledge across different platforms
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask across projects
  • A commitment to high quality work and perfecting details
  • Ability to build excellent client relationships through thought leadership, outstanding creativity and proactive and reactive problem solving

  • A creative thinker who is comfortable talking with clients to understand their ideas
    and bring them to life
  • Confident communication with clients and colleagues when pitching and winning new

  • An expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and
  • Photoshop
  • Strong layout and typography skills

  • Friendly approach and a team player

About Creative Design

‘Creative Design’ is not your typical in-house team. We are a proactive and creative team of over 50 designers, developers, visualisers, filmmakers and immersive media specialists based across 8 offices, 7 in the UK and one in India. We deliver world class solutions to a wide range of Atkins clients including MoD, EDF, Highways England, Transport for London, HS2 and the Environment Agency. We work collaboratively with Atkins’ teams and external clients, getting to the heart of problems and adding value and innovation to every project.
