Senior Lead Mechanical Commissioning Specialist

We are hiring! We are looking for a Sr. Lead Mechanical Commissioning Specialist to join our team. This position location is in the state of Ohio.

The Mechanical Commissioning Specialist reports to our Commissioning Manager and is responsible for interfacing with construction on system turnover to meet project schedules.  Commissions, test and operates all plant. Aids client operations group for all systems as they are placed in service.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Implements commissioning and testing program.
  • Review P&ID's and engineering documents.
  • Works with Project Controls to develop and maintain the project schedule.
  • Supervises/assigns work to technicians and construction crafts.
  • Interfaces with other departments and vendors to support testing activities.
  • Prepares and maintains System Turnover Package documentation.
  • Performs system walk downs and generates punch lists.
  • Reviews System Turnover Packages.
  • Schedules and works with equipment vendors.
  • Submits FCCR’s and RFI’s.
  • Works with client's O&M staff in support of start-up testing.
  • Works shifts as required to support the project schedule.
  • Prepares functional test plans, as well as assembling a complete testing plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Commissioning Manager.

What will you contribute?

  • Educational requirements include:  A.A.S. or 4-year engineering degree or equivalent. 15 or more years’ experience in major plant equipment and system installations. 
  • Knowledge of labor jurisdiction, construction techniques, tools, and equipment, and Lock Out Tag Out systems is required. 
  • Working knowledge of plant and associated systems, Operates from established and well-known procedures under general directions.
  • Receives minimum supervision, Decisions are made within policy constraints. 
  • New and varied work situations, Job involves a moderate degree of complexity.
  • Contacts are normally made with others inside the Company, Contacts are usually immediate associates and own supervisor.
  • Must be able to read piping and instrument drawings, operate plant equipment and utilize typical test equipment associated with this position. 
  • Needs good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have experience using Microsoft Office products (particularly Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The duties and responsibilities are generally performed in a plant or support services environment.  The position generally involves occasional sitting; frequent standing, occasional walking; moderate to heavy lifting, and carrying; frequent kneeling, twisting, and balancing; occasional climbing; and, frequent reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping and operation of heavy equipment and machinery.

The environmental conditions generally include ambient inside temperature and lighting levels and hazardous conditions.  The use of protective clothing and/or personal devices is generally required.
