As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T) business you will take the lead delivering a wide variety of projects, ranging from niche consultancy to large, high profile programmes. Whether it's the challenge of aircraft electrification or designing critical equipment to support the UK's Continuous at Sea Deterrent, you can take pride in the impact your contribution will make on advancing our world.
Your purpose:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer within ADS&T you will:
Lead project teams to deliver against time, cost and quality requirements;
Develop and maintain senior technical relationships with key clients, working closely with them to develop solutions to their problems;
Take responsibility for the internal technical governance and quality of deliverables to our clients;
Guide, mentor and support engineers working under your purview;
Provide suitable guidance and judgement regarding methods, approaches, standards and best practice;
Support bidding activities and the production of detailed proposal documents from a technical perspective.
What you can bring?
A degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Effective leadership skills with specific experience of leading mechanical engineering delivery teams;
Significant experience of working in the aerospace and defence sector with knowledge of the related design processes and procedures;
Knowledge of aircraft structural airworthiness requirements;
Considerable experience in mechanical analysis and substantiation of aircraft structures from first principles;
A proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions in challenging timescales;
Willingness to travel to clients’ sites around the country to assist in winning new work and delivering current projects;
A desire to be challenged and to contribute to the success of the business.
