Senior Payroll Specialist

Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Tampa, Florida office as a Senior Payroll Specialist.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Prepares, inputs and audits payroll transactional data to produce on-time and accurate payroll. Reviews and analyzes payroll data and reports to ensure accurate and balanced payroll consistent with policies and regulations. Provides quality client service. Performs other special payroll projects, as assigned. 


JOB DUTIES

• Monitors workflow and the day-to-day payroll operational activities within the team.
• Documents and reviews processes.
• Assists in identifying process improvements/efficiencies and change implementation.
• Communicates regularly with Payroll Manager by providing frequent status updates, and appropriately responds to and escalates issues.
• Applies proficiency with ADP Vantage and ADP Workforce Now applications.
• Audits, monitors, analyzes, reviews payroll data input/imports in order to produce a balanced, accurate and timely payroll through reports and tools available.
• Assists employee population with payroll related queries, resolves problems and responds in a timely fashion, providing quality client service.
• Acts as subject matter expert on payroll and payroll tax related issues.
• Ensures Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements are properly satisfied.
• Ensures timely and accurate account reconciliation.
• Prepares timely and accurate reports for management and regulatory agencies in providing accountability of payroll process.
• Assists heavily in year-end preparation, processes, analysis and reconciliation.
• Performs other non-recurring payrolls.
• Contributes towards team success and is a team player.
• Performs other such duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

• High school diploma required. Two or four year degree preferred. Some accounting or payroll courses preferred. Minimum six years related payroll experience with basic knowledge of payroll calculations and wage and tax regulations required.
  

• Experience with ADP Vantage system. Proficient in Microsoft applications. Excellent organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple tasks and assignments. Advanced problem resolution and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail. Above average interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to lead by example. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. 
  

• FPP (Fundamental Payroll Professional) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred.
