Senior Quantity Surveyor (Post-Contract)

Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,000 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, and Sharjah.

Key Responsibilities:

• Post contract commercial support for chosen package(s)
• Management of package related Head Contract conditions
• Negotiation and execution of all package commercial activities
• Management of package Interim valuations and payment certificates;
• Managing package variations analysis, recommendations and management;
• Managing package risk and value management and cost control functions;
• Managing package costs analysis project work;
• Managing package related progress and cost reports;
• Reporting to Managing Atkins Commercial Manager on all commercial issues;
• Assisting in identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks for both the client and Atkins;
• Maintain client relations by being lead contact of proposal for client
• Attendance and representation at commercial meetings
• Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;
• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations;
• 6 days working week

  Experience and Qualifications:

• Post Contract, site-based experience must be broad and include Hotels, Infrastructure, Retail, Entertainment, Leisure and Waterparks is preferred;
• Minimum 10 years post-contract relevant capacity in contracts and commercial management;
• Must have minimum of 5 years Middle East experience preferred;
• Minimum 3 years Client facing roles experience
• Degree in Quantity Surveying from a RICS recognized University;
• Must have previous experience of FIDIC Contracts;
• Measurement and quantification experience
• Cost estimating experience
• Experience in the use of QS software, Microsoft, Aconex, CATO or similar is required;
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
• Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
