Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Orlando, FL Information Technology Group as a Post Sales IT Engineer.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE
Solutions oriented individual focusing on application-specific IT to assist the VUEWorks® Product team in meeting project/deliverable requirements, maintenance & support objectives and customer needs while navigating the (Atkins/SNC-L) Global IS restrictions, policies and goals. Serves as a web/server administrator for a cloud hosted server-based application, with a primary focus on effective operations. The VUEWorks application is web-based and is installed both on premise at customer organizations and the DTS hosted Cloud. Support the application from an IT perspective for implementations and ongoing product life cycle. Successful applicants will work well in a team environment and possess superior attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.


JOB DUTIES
  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, operation and on-going maintenance of the production environment.
  • Works with the implementation team to support on premise installations of the software.
  • Provide configuration recommendations and assistance to other solution deployment team members to include troubleshooting and de-bugging support for implementation projects and initiatives.
  • Works with VUEWorks customers to advise and assist with IT issues in the customer environment (for on premise installations).
  • Takes ownership of problem management and prioritizes remediation of issues according to business needs.
  • Works closely with operations, customers and outside vendors to effectively plan, deploy and maintain production environment.
  • Provide direct support in daily network and systems operations including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
  • Assist the development team with IT-related issues, setting up test environments, advising on impacts to the application of patches, updates, security vulnerabilities, etc.
  • Vulnerability & Patch management process development
  • Leverage the right monitoring tools to keep up with SLAs of platform performance & latency using alerts/metrics
  • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability through proactive infrastructure life cycle management and monitoring.
  • Ensures change management is properly deployed and followed for all tasks.
  • Creates and maintains up-to-date documentation on production environment.
  • Provides technical support and coordination with the Support team to assist with troubleshooting and work to solve technical and operational problems.
  • Collaborates closely with colleagues in the wider Network IT Security and Infrastructure team to ensure effective cross team working.
  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may deem necessary.
  • Complex, varied, non-standardized tasks, processes, or operations of considerable importance to ensure the up-time of customer facing applications.
  • Consistently exercises initiative and independent judgment, applying knowledge and experience as well as general guidelines and policies.
  • Works with customers’ IT contacts to discuss application technical specifications and develop solutions for integration points. Vendor coordination and oversight.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems or Information Technology. Minimum two years network/system administration and PC support experience. Knowledge of Local Area Networks and the TCP/IP protocol.

SPECIAL SKILLS
Strong knowledge of the following is required:
  • High proficiency in Microsoft products, networking, SQL databases and Windows server
  • Cloud software / platform solution implementation
  • Active Directory, IIS, SSO (LDAP, SAML), VPN, Storage, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning, web services, APIs
  • Experience with Esri/ArcGIS Server Administration a plus
  • Self-motivated and competitive

  • An analytical problem solver who will roll up their sleeves to work with and for our team

Extended hours may be required as workload and deadlines demand.
