Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Austin, TX team as an Design-Build Procurement Engineer.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Provides procurement expertise to support Atkins’ client in the delivery of a multi-billion dollar program of design-build transportation projects.

JOB DUTIES

Develops procurement documents (RFQ, RFP, specifications) for design-build projects.
Manages the design-build procurement process.
Develops risk management tools to ensure appropriate contract risk allocation between owner and design-build contractor.
Performs research and prepares white papers and technical notes on a range of alternative delivery/design-build topics.
Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments. Work requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in field of practice. Post graduate degree preferred. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus. This level may be achieved by technical professionals or technical managers with 15 years of experience since B.S., with at least three of these years in positions with project management or supervisory responsibilities.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Excellent technical and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage individuals and teams, provide leadership, and manage project production. Must have business vision, excellent communication skills, and be able to represent the firm effectively to clients, key public officials, and the community in general.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

Professional registration in field of practice is required, if available, e.g., P.E., A.I.C.P., R.A., or R.L.A.
