We are hiring! Atkins seeks a Sr. Learning and Talent Development Advisor to join our learning development team in Denver, CO or Austin, TX. Reporting to Reporting to the Head of L&TD, US, this role will provide expert consultancy, advice and where appropriate broker L&D solutions working in collaboration with the US L&TD team, the global L&TD Centre of Expertise as well as the wider regional HR team and stakeholders from across the business.

The Sr. Learning Development Advisor will be a part of a supportive team that demonstrates regional client focus in a demanding as well as dynamic and flexible work environment.  The purpose of this role is to deliver learning and talent development interventions and strategic projects to build people capability aligned to the global HR people strategy. The role requires a sharp understanding of the L&D requirements of an engineering business, creating and deploying the latest cutting-edge learning solutions.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Partner with regional HR teams, communication specialists, shared service center and/or our global network of L&TD leads, and the business to implement L&TD initiatives with best in class change management practices.
  • Act as an L&TD consultant to the business, assessing learning need and partnering to deliver cost-effective solutions that equip and build people capability
  • Facilitate HR or business meetings or sessions to ensure effective launch, promotion, adoption and use of L&TD tools.
  • Participate and/or lead regional L&TD mandates, which may include managing deployment of performance and talent reviews annual cycles, implementing global L&TD processes and practices, designing/promoting career tools, supporting graduate development, supporting mentoring program, partnering with vendors for development initiatives, supporting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion activities, etc.
  • Participate and/or lead global L&TD mandates such as Performance & Talent improvement strategies, career planning & development tools, training content, digital solutions and tools, communication, and branding material, etc.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with HR and business stakeholders in the region, help them articulate their needs, gain a strong understanding of current issues/opportunities to turn them into practical L&TD initiatives and solutions.
  • Leverage Workday (our global HR system platform) to analyze Performance and Talent related metrics, including training records, development plans, mentoring profiles, leadership pipeline to identify regional development gaps and opportunities.
  • Evaluate and measure the impact of L&TD interventions to ensure desired outcomes are achieved, lessons learned are shared; and adjusted as necessary based on feedback.
  • Provides oversight to junior team members on program coordination and LMS administration to run our signature L&TD programs
  • Work with our HR Centre in Bangalore to ensure efficiency in delivery of our L&TD programs.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, education, organizational development, or related field. Master’s degree is considered as a strong asset.
  • 10+ years’ experience in learning & development, talent management or organization development.
  • Excellent communicator, collaborator, and influencer.
  • An understanding of learning and development principles
  • Human Resources experience with a consulting, business partnering background (ideally from within a large matrix style organization).
  • Experience with data, analysis, trends, and reporting.
  • Change management experience.
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS) and asse.t
  • Strong business acumen, innovation, and client centric skills.
  • Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills.
  • Mastery of adult learning principles and ability to design and facilitate engaging sessions.
  • Exceptional business partnering and communication skills, with a natural ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across all areas of the organization.
  • Ability to lead/participate into a variety of global and regional L&TD projects, deal with competing priorities, and manage time appropriately in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Demonstrate a ‘Can Do’ attitude, positive mindset, and foster an inclusive and diverse working environment.
  • Excellent systems skills, with a strong knowledge of MS Office software and ideally Workday.
  • Lifelong learning and growth mindset.
