Step into a rewarding role in our 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T) division. As a Strategy and Business Design Consultant, you'll stay challenged, providing key clients with day-to-day advice. You'll be trusted with technical delivery, using emerging innovation and data analysis to develop client recommendations. Everyone here is up to the challenge, and you'll enjoy leading and building up our diverse, talented and supportive teams.

Your purpose:

We are seeking Management Consultants with experience in strategy and business design. The successful candidate will work with organisations helping them define their position within a wider enterprise environment, helping them structure disparate capabilities into more effective, agile and efficient units. The candidate will be a part of the Strategy & Business Design team.

We want you to help us grow our business by:

  • Delivering consulting and advisory services to senior stakeholders to achieve excellent results for our clients across the full breadth of strategy development and business design.
  • Building effective mutually beneficial relationships with our clients, understand their needs and translate them into consulting opportunities.
  • Leading dynamic workstreams based at our clients’ premises and our Atkins’ offices across the UK.
  • Contributing to the development of thought leadership, consulting propositions for our clients and promotional marketing materials.
  • Working with bid teams to shape tender responses and produce high quality bid content.
  • Continually developing own knowledge and understanding of consulting skills and client markets and supporting the development of others.

What you can bring?

Successful candidates will be working with our clients from day one. We are looking for people who can demonstrate capabilities and experience across the following areas:

Client Management:

  • Breadth of consultancy experience, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders in strategy and business design.
  • You can build good and lasting relationships with clients at all levels in a business environment.
  • You can gain client trust and identify opportunities for adding further value to the client relationship.
  • You maintain a flexible approach to working in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Technical Delivery:

  • You have a degree or equivalent qualifications; however significant relevant experience will also be considered.
  • You are skilled at analysing complex problems, designing innovative solutions and communicating them effectively to executive-level audiences.
  • You have experience working on large scale strategy, operating model or business design transformations.
  • MBA or other relevant professional qualifications are desirable.
  • Experience in one or more of our key markets (Defence, Aerospace, Security, Energy, Utilities, Highways, Rail and the Public Sector) is desirable but not essential.

People:

  • You have a track record of successfully guiding stakeholders through business transformations.
  • You are a supportive team player and can communicate and collaborate effectively with a wide range of people.
  • You can demonstrate an ability to transfer skills and knowledge to colleagues and clients.
  • You are proactive and enjoy working with a variety of people, but also confident working independently.

Business Development:

  • Experience in supporting the development and delivery of marketing campaigns or promotional events is desirable.
  • Experience of contributing to the sale of management consulting work – including bid development and presentations is desirable.
