Job Title

Systems Management Engineer

Job Description

Atkins requires a highly qualified support engineer to maintain all elements Microsoft Systems Centre Configurations Manager 2007 R2/2012 R2 within a Microsoft Windows environment. Acting as an escalation point, this role will work as part of a team providing operational support where a robust and agile individual has the ability to answer and resolve all support related queries for this service.

MCSE

A minimum of 4 yearsâ experience working with SCCM 2007 R2/SCCM 2012 R2 in a globally distributed SCCM hierarchy, providing support for all features of the SCCM suite.

The engineer will be required to:

Experience of documenting, testing, packaging and releasing System Centre Configurations Manager packages and applications.
Point of escalation of all Application delivery, operating system and software update deployment issues.
Deploy and configure SCCM infrastructure.
Manage and maintain all elements of the SCCM infrastructure.
Deploy and manage the release of Microsoft and Non Microsoft software and security updates.

Desirable Criteria

Experience of working with other System Centre products like Systems Centre Operations Manager.
Active directory.
HP server hardware and VMware virtualisation technologies.
MacAfee ePO

Responsibilities

Resolving 3^rd line support calls.
Completing, resolving related issues and reporting on the status of all daily checks.
Managing agent coverage and health state, including systems in workgroup related environments.
Keeping the environment up to date with software updates.
Creating detailed reports on the infrastructure.
Monitoring and optimising the server environment.
Managing technical policies and standards.
Improving/automating administrative procedures.
Capacity management of the Microsoft Systems Management suite.
Writing technical documentation.

The Individual

Excellent problem solving skills.
Comfortable working both with a team and individually when necessary.
Problem ownership and accountability, along with the initiative to identify/resolve potential problems without necessarily being assigned the task.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels.
Proactive work ethic.
Diligent with attention to detail.
