Join us as a Test and Integration Consultant in our 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T) division. Working in our Applied Technology (APT) Practice, you'll enjoy working in and alongside core teams who all pull together to get the job done. Using the most effective and efficient methods available, focus on helping clients through the full business change lifecycle from early engagement in the process to delivery of conceptual and innovative solutions. You'll be able to shape the client's objectives before developing and delivering the overall Test and Integration strategy and plan.
Your purpose:
The successful candidate will be given significant responsibility for client-facing work from day one as well as helping to develop and shape aspects of the Atkins Digital Advisory team. You will be responsible for strategic planning and management of effective Testing and Integration programmes and requirements for our clients. You will be expected to have regular interactions with clients and key stakeholders, will be embedded in projects and will need to assist colleagues in delivering specific project outputs.
Within Atkins ADS&T Digital Advisory we operate as T shape consultants meaning that first and foremost all members of the Digital Advisory team regardless are wide breath consultants with people and stakeholder skills at the core – All Digital Advisory consultants will then have specific specialisms from Data, Security, Applications, Cyber and this instance Test and Integration skills and experience.
We will be looking for the following qualities in the ideal candidate:
- As a Test and Integration Consultant / Subject Matter Expert, advise on the best use of tools and frameworks through analysis, feasibility studies, proof of concept, estimation, implementation roadmaps, ROI, tool recommendations, etc.
- To advise our clients on strategic and governance matters for introducing and improving testing and automation in their organisations.
- Progress projects and teams from manual to automated testing, balancing development costs, execution speed, robustness and maintenance.
- Responsible for Integration and Business / Stakeholder engagement and approval of Atkins Testing deliverables.
- Managing a team and providing mentoring to transfer skills and knowledge within the Test and Integration discipline.
- Desire to participate in collateral production, bid development, marketing and sales.
- Proactively engage with the other SNC business areas to foster collaboration, aiding business development and growth.
- Develop a resource ‘toolbox’ to enable efficient reuse of test-ware across projects.
- Constantly assess the latest technologies and techniques in the marketplace and providing thought leadership on potential practical applications to our client’s problems.
- Contribute to the Digital Advisory Test and Integration capability development and wider Digital Advisory initiatives.
What you can bring?

- Degree level qualification in Computing, Engineering, Science or Mathematics.
- Have a passion for developing technically and professionally.

- Able to demonstrate problem-solving ability in relation to complex problems.
- Proactive in one’s approach to work and enjoy working with a variety of people as well as being comfortable with progressing work singly.
- Have an awareness of commercial drivers, win work and follow on work implications.
- Extensive experience in tools-based automation.
- Experience in developing automated testing frameworks from scratch for
- HP UFT.
- Selenium (Protractor)
- Have experience working with sequential, high performance and hybrid IT delivery models.
- Experience in Continuous Integration using AWS, ADO & Jenkins for triggering automated tests when code is deployed.
- Experience in implementing continuous regression (unattended overnight execution) once the builds are deployed, even without CICD enablement.
- Experience in Mobile Automation Testing on both Client and Server side.
- Client Integration, planning and project management skills
- A genuine desire to deliver ground breaking solutions to key UK civil departments and organisations that have a noticeable positive impact on UK economy, Civil Progression and real people.
