Transport Due Diligence Project Manager

Transport Due Diligence Project Manager based in our Birmingham, London, Glasgow, Peterborough or Warrington offices, within the Transport Consulting and Advisory Practice, part of the Transportation business.

The Technical Advisory & Due Diligence sub-Practice is an integral part of our Transportation business and provides high-value technical and commercial advice to clients for new and existing transportation projects and concessions (including highways, railways, ports and airports).  Our team focusses on Technical Advice and Due Diligence primarily on PPP projects and the sale / acquisition of assets. We provide Technical Advisor and Due Diligence services to Project Sponsors, Equity Investors and Lenders.

The core team is augmented on a project by project basis with specialists drawn from a broad spectrum of Atkins.  The sub-Practice is a key part of Atkins’ plan for future growth, particularly in international markets, and has already established strong relationships with many of the major players in the public and private sectors for PPP programmes in a number of key markets primarily in Europe, North America and Australia / New Zealand.

You will be a key member of the team providing due diligence advice to Lenders.  You will play an important part in leading the due diligence activities for various projects, providing support to other Project Managers in the team as well as assisting with the marketing and growth of the practice and developing and managing several commissions of your own.

Project delivery and customer focus are key to our business to ensure we further develop relationships with key clients and secure repeat business to achieve growth.

You will have the opportunity to work on a broad variety of major projects, with frequent short overseas visits primarily to locations in Europe. 

Recent and on-going tasks being undertaken include:

• Technical due diligence to Lenders for new highway projects in Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Croatia and Ireland;
• Construction/operations phase monitoring for Lenders for several major new highway and railway projects in France, the Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Canada and the USA.

You will be able to develop your career by gaining an appreciation of the financial, commercial and technical drivers of a wide variety of major projects.  You will be encouraged to work across the unit on a variety of commissions, as a fully integrated member of the team.  You will need to focus on contractual, cost, time, feasibility, buildability, risk and risk mitigation aspects of projects.
