Atkins have exciting new opportunities in our Building Design Practice for Urban Designers / Master planners in our London office.

You will have the opportunity to use the skills that you have developed on our high-profile masterplanning projects across a range of scales for the public and private sector, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams of building design professionals, economists and commercial managers.
The opportunities would particularly suit Urban Designers / Masterplanners who can demonstrate broad experience of related work in the UK strategic land and residential sector, as well as of urban regeneration and infrastructure redevelopment schemes.

As Urban Designer / Masterplanner you will be responsible for activities including:
- Leading in the production of high-quality urban design and master planning projects;
- Support in the preparation of technical bids and fee proposals for master planning and urban design projects and other major infrastructure projects where appropriate;
- Project management of master planning projects involving multi-disciplinary teams, including the application of all Atkins business management systems;
- Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, attending meetings, workshops and seminars;
- Other duties associated with the main role and responsibilities will be requested from time to time.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in urban design or comparable qualification;
- Client focused with good management skills;
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken;
- Excellent graphic design skills with a minimum fluency in AUTOCAD and Adobe Creative Suite;
- Have experience on masterplanning related station and railway improvement projects;
- Familiar with Homes England Framework and have a track record of wining and submitting projects through the framework;
- Have had broad involvement in Garden village related materplanning projects;
- Have a well-developed understanding of the UK Planning System and a track record of submitting outline applications;
- Be available to travel across the UK and work away from home, when required.
