As part of the Trillium project based in Ottawa, we are looking for a qualified Superintendent, Utilities. The incumbent will be responsible for the development of construction work methods for utility relocations, new installations, roadworks and traffic management.
How will you contribute to the team?
Prepare 3-week look ahead schedules and integrate with the overall project schedule with the project team
Oversee and direct work and inspections with various Utility companies and City Water and Wastewater group
Ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions
Maintain proper site tidiness, access, fencing and signage
Keep logs of site activity and report issues in a timely manner to the Construction Manager and Safety Group
Direct all field personnel and subcontractors to achieve completion of projects on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications
Promote and enforce safety and environmental SNC-Lavalin policies and procedures
Generate NCRs and deficiency lists as required
Review and understand project drawings and identify potential changes required
Supervise and mentor Field Engineers and Project Coordinators
Order and maintain all tools and equipment in good order
Coordinate survey crews and technical team with the construction schedule
What will you contribute?
5 years in a supervisory experience in Utility construction (Telecommunications Lines, Hydro Ottawa, Enbridge Gas, City Watermains and Sewers…_
Construction related degree/diploma and 3 to 5 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
Previous experience with and knowledge of Ontario Traffic Manual Books 5 and 7 would be an asset
Substantial knowledge of shop drawings, RFIs, changes, and site instructions as they relate to a project is a requirement
Effectiveness in Microsoft Office and other applications used on the project
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Must hold a valid driver’s license
