Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Austin, TX Water Resources Group as a Water Resources CAD Technician.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE
Under supervision, provides proficiency in computer-assisted drafting & design to support the
technical services of the company.

JOB DUTIES

Performs varied and complex computer-aided drafting and design work. Incumbents at this level are able to make design adaptations and produce variations on a design from verbal specifications or concepts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma (or equivalent) plus eight years related experience OR an Associates Degree in a related technical field plus six years related experience is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Ability to interpret technical specifications; good math and CAD skills required.
Must be competent with Bentley Microstation, TxDOT plan setup, and drainage plan, profile, and hydraulic structure sheets.
Familiarity with Bentley Inroads and GeoPak preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to process paper/electronic documents and utilize computer equipment; ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; ability to visit project sites if necessary. Job also requires ability to assemble and analyze data.
