A weekend of fun & innovation for our Energy GAP students
Last month, 70 graduates, apprentices and placement (GAP) students from nine different offices across the UK gathered for a weekend of fun. They all headed to the Peak District, with the YHA Castleton being the GAP base for the weekend.
The itinerary began with a delicious meal on the Friday evening. After a good night’s sleep, the weekend truly kicked off at 9.30am with all GAPs having a choice of bearing the snow for outside activities that included rock climbing, weaselling, caving, abseiling or bushcraft or try their hand at either a CAE session or an innovation session. After refuelling with lunch, attendees could then choose a second activity of the day if the frostbite wasn’t too severe.
In the evening, all attendees gathered for a GAP forum, to discuss innovation, recruitment, key markets and mobility. Once the discussion was over, everyone donned their Christmas jumpers and enjoyed the evening’s festive bash. One delicious Christmas dinner and a great quiz later, and everyone headed back to their dorm, ready to head back to reality on Sunday morning.
The weekend was a great success and we look forward to hearing what’s in store for the 2018 event!
