How are you?
Many of us will answer ‘fine’, even when we’re not. Too often, mental health problems are treated as a taboo subject – something not to be talked about, especially at work. However, mental health affects us all and we should feel able to talk about it.

Thursday 1 February marks Time to Talk Day – a day when everyone is encouraged to have a conversation about mental health. We know that it benefits all of us to talk about mental health so as part of our Time to Change pledge, we want to encourage as many people as possible to feel comfortable talking about how they really are...

Rolling out Mental Health First Aider programme
In 2017 we were proud to kick off a pilot programme of Mental Health First Aiders in our Energy and Transportation businesses. We joined up with the mental health charity Mind to train 50 volunteers to spot the symptoms of mental health issues, offer initial help and guide people towards support. We’ve been overwhelmed with support for the programme and we’re now inviting a further 50 volunteers to expand our network across all our offices and businesses in the UK.
