What is your role at SNC-Lavalin – what areas do you recruit for?
I am the Recruitment Lead for our UK Nuclear & Power, as well as Oil & Gas businesses. I predominantly look for Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers (EC&I), Design Engineers, Project Manager & Civil & Structural Engineers.
Tell us a little bit about your background?
I am an MBA Graduate with over 8 years of experience in International Recruitment, across various industries such as Telecom, BSFI, Energy, Information Technology & now Engineering, Design & Project Management. I have an expertise in stakeholder management, Market Research & Business Analysis.
What is the best thing about your job?
The best is getting to offer someone a role with Atkins! I also enjoy interacting with people from different countries & backgrounds. It’s great to work with incredibly talented people and thereby creating careers, not just jobs!

What makes a good day at work?
Knowing that you've helped change someone’s life for the better, is an amazing feeling and the satisfaction you get from this doesn’t get much better. Also, when I get the opportunity to inspire someone in my team and motivate them to be and do better.

I’m Kwazi Nokwabuza, junior engineer at Kentz, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group. I am fortunate to be one of the top ten graduates chosen for SNC-Lavalin’s 2018 Graduate Engineering Development Program (GEDP). It’s a rotational program that includes practical experience, formal in-house tuition and relevant external training.
Atkins has been a partner to DONG Energy since 2013 helping to transform the offshore wind industry through standardisation of design and cost reduction.
We are helping to enable a production line approach to fabrication, rather than a bespoke solution each time, driving down the whole life costs to DONG Energy whilst maintaining the highest safety
Last month, 70 graduates, apprentices and placement (GAP) students from nine different offices across the UK gathered for a weekend of fun. They all headed to the Peak District, with the YHA Castleton being the GAP base for the weekend.
