We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starter to join our team as a Sr. Traffic Safety Design Engineer in Atlanta, GA.

How will you contribute to the team?

Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Duties usually include the following:

  • Designs and develops plans and drawings, which may include the development of preliminary layout and/or final drawings regarding alternative intersection design and Traffic studies. Specifically, our work includes roundabout design, signal design, utility coordination, signing and pavement marking design, and more.
  • Provides engineering services during construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; prepares records and progress reports defining construction progress; observes construction procedures under the guidance of a more experienced professional and evaluates the results from quality control testing.
  • Researches feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
  • Contributes to the development of specifications and permit applications and develops miscellaneous reports. Prepares preliminary man-hour, cost and material quantity estimates.
  • Participates in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, checking computations, and/or reviewing designs and drawings created by others.
  • Expected to take the lead in project-specific teams, manage projects and tasks.
  • Contribute expertise in advanced concepts and techniques to solve unconventional problems.
  • Ensure work produced is technically accurate and delivered in accordance with the appropriate standards.
  • Coordinate with internal project staff, subconsultants, and clients.
  • Provide leadership, direction, technical guidance, and function as a mentor to technical professionals to assist in their training and development.
  • Positive and practical with experience of managing resources, mentoring, and inspiring teams to exceed client expectations.

What will you contribute?

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
  • This level may be achieved by Engineers with four years of experience since B.S. or three years since M.S. Incumbents typically have six to ten year’s of experience since Bachelors’ degree.
  • P.E. license is required.
  • Technical writing, computer and communications skills required.
  • AutoCAD or MicroStation experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
