Joining Faithful+Gould, a member of the SNC-Lavalin group, as an apprentice quantity surveyor, I knew that the challenges and learning experiences would give me a great start to my career. But I never expected that the journey would be so rewarding! Read on to find out more about the Apprenticeship Scheme, what a quantity surveyor actually does, and my accomplishments so far.
You can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Well at Faithful+Gould, a member of the SNC-Lavalin group, you can. Ben Craig started as an Apprentice and after diving into a few projects, turned his wickedly analytical mind to showing us an entirely new way to do, what we do.

Our apprentice opportunities are exceptional – from experiencing real work first hand to learning the theory behind the job, apprentices can train all the way up to a masters degree. But with the theme of National Apprentice Week being ‘Works for Me’, it’s a good time to ask: do apprenticeships really work for Atkins?
More than 350 graduates and apprentices have kick-started their design, engineering and project management careers after joining Atkins. The new intake represents the company’s highest ever proportion of female graduates and apprentices.
