How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Leading a team of construction professionals in a senior management role.
- Leading constructability analyses.
- Providing field execution leadership during various phases of the project.
- Managing and/or coordinating company personnel and resources for the project(s).
- Assisting with preconstruction efforts.
- Managing various aspects of project from inception.
- Preparing and executing project executive planning for all client’s teams.
- Reviewing trade contracts and bid packages, and oversee procurement process.
- Overseeing performance of project including, project status, schedule, cost control, and change management systems.
- Maintaining relationships with internal partners, designers and consultants and the GC team.
- Reviewing inspection and test data for compliance with specifications and company standards.
- Developing and maintaining a site logistics plan, in coordination with GC and Consultant team.
- Setting up QAQC procedures and conduct quality inspections.
- Demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through own actions, mentoring others, and enforcing IFE program on projects.
What will you contribute?
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma from a recognized university, college or technical institute in engineering, construction management, or comparable specialty.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management roles with five years of experience in a senior role for the main contractor on projects >$1B and a minimum of three years of light rail transit experience (strongly preferred).
- Prior experience working as superintendent earlier in the career required.
- A minimum three years of structures experience on projects >$1B required.
- Combination of contractor side and owner side experience an asset.
- Construction QA/QC.
- Member of a Professional Institute preferred.
- Strong project management skills.
- Issue identification and resolution management.
- Technical writing skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Visio, MS Project).
