How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Leading a team of construction professionals in a senior management role.
  • Leading constructability analyses.
  • Providing field execution leadership during various phases of the project.
  • Managing and/or coordinating company personnel and resources for the project(s).
  • Assisting with preconstruction efforts.
  • Managing various aspects of project from inception.
  • Preparing and executing project executive planning for all client’s teams.
  • Reviewing trade contracts and bid packages, and oversee procurement process.
  • Overseeing performance of project including, project status, schedule, cost control, and change management systems.
  • Maintaining relationships with internal partners, designers and consultants and the GC team.
  • Reviewing inspection and test data for compliance with specifications and company standards.
  • Developing and maintaining a site logistics plan, in coordination with GC and Consultant team.
  • Setting up QAQC procedures and conduct quality inspections.
  • Demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through own actions, mentoring others, and enforcing IFE program on projects.

What will you contribute?

  • A Bachelor’s degree or diploma from a recognized university, college or technical institute in engineering, construction management, or comparable specialty.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management roles with five years of experience in a senior role for the main contractor on projects >$1B and a minimum of three years of light rail transit experience (strongly preferred).
  • Prior experience working as superintendent earlier in the career required.
  • A minimum three years of structures experience on projects >$1B required.
  • Combination of contractor side and owner side experience an asset.
  • Construction QA/QC.
  • Member of a Professional Institute preferred.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Issue identification and resolution management.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Visio, MS Project).
