We are looking for a self-motivated Instrumentation and Control Technologist to support design, preventative maintenance, and repair activities related to different tools associated with inspection and maintenance systems for nuclear power stations.    

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Assist the Technical Lead in the design and implementation of control software for robotics, testing, and inspection tooling

  • Implement modifications to existing control system hardware and software

  • Assist in developing Tooling maintenance procedures as applicable for each of the different project

  • Assist in Preparation of documentations including operating manuals, and work instructions

  • Perform assembly, testing, operation and maintenance of control systems for mock-ups, tools and equipment

  • Participate in tooling related troubleshooting activities required during tooling development and/or operations at site.

  • Assist on preparing validation tests and/or review the results of the validation testing

  • Participate in field implementation of tooling projects

  • Occasionally perform duties in a radiation environment

What will you contribute?

  • Capability to perform tasks with appropriate supervision and to take ownership of the assigned tasks

  • knowledge of electrical/electronic schematics and use of proper diagnostic equipment

  • The experience of Manual disassembly/assembly of equipment, electrical/electronic components is an asset.

  • Experience with PLC-based automated equipment is an asset

  • Familiar with various programming languages such as Visual Basic or C++ is an asset

  • Experience with IEC61131-3 programming languages is an asset

  • Experience with National Instruments LabView software is an asset

  • Must work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment

  • Working knowledge with MS based computer applications.

  • Good written and oral communication skills

Qualifications

  • College graduate of an Electrical, Control Technologist or similar program

  • Manufacturing/fabrication or related industry experience is an asset

Other Aspects

  • Security Clearance must be obtained and maintained as a condition of employment

  • Occasional deployment to domestic and international nuclear sites will be required.

  • Occasionally support shift work including day shift and night shift
