We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Safety in Design Manager to join an exciting project in Madinah, KSA.

As a Safety in Design Manager, you will ensure that safety considerations are integrated into the design and the development process. You will lead and oversee safety initiatives, manage risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety throughout the design lifecycle. Your expertise will play a critical role in preventing accidents, mitigating hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Lead the effective achievement of the department objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating employees to maximize individual and functional performance.
  • Coordinate the activities of the team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the annual business plans, policies, and procedures.

Safety in Design Management

  • Lead the development and implementation of safety in design strategies and plans.
  • Ensure that all designs, plans, and specifications are compliant with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Undertake risk assessments and hazard identification to eliminate or reduce risks to an acceptable level.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Prepare accurate and timely functional deliverables and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

Health, Safety, Security, and Environment

  • Apply health, safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the functional systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 15+ years of experience and should have Architectural Engineering background.
  • Experience in safety management, risk assessment, or safety engineering, preferably within design or engineering projects.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop and execute project plans, manage budgets, and mitigate risks.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and best practices relevant to the industry and project scope.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software, risk assessment tools, and other relevant technologies.
