About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest for a Commissioning Specialist, Electrical or Mechanical, for a period of 12 months with opportunity to extend. This role will be offered as a Port Hedland based, FIFO on a 14 days on 7 days off roster to Perth only or residential role. Candidate must be based in Western Australia.

Reporting to the Commissioning Superintendent, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

Commissioning Planning:

  • Develops Commissioning strategy, standards, processes, systems and plans for Project pipeline
  • Provides Commissioning expertise in the development of commissioning related project deliverables
  • Assists the Direct Report with all requirements to achieve successful project planning, execution and completion
  • Liaise with stakeholders, contractors and vendors during the planning phase

Commissioning Execution:

  • Executes commissioning methodologies, strategies and plans in accordance with project commissioning systems and standards
  • Performs defect identification and rectification throughout the commissioning process, and post-handover in conjunction with Operations
  • Utilise the systems and sub-systems developed for the commissioning processes
  • Support and maintenance of the CCMS software
  • Monitors Commissioning contractor performance as required and verifies quality of contractor documentation
  • Performs manual (work) tasks and activities to complete the commissioning scope of work including; field commissioning activities and completion of documentation
  • Reporting and Handover

We require the following attributes and experience:

  • Electrical or Mechanical Trade qualification
  • Strong safe and process driven technical leadership skills
  • Current unrestricted West Australian ‘C’ class licence or equivalent Australian State motor vehicle licence
  • Responsible Person or Section 44 appointment & experience (preferred not mandatory)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft tools including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experienced in 1DOC, SharePoint, 1SAP and SPO (beneficial not mandatory)
  • Experienced in the use of DAS, Spotfire, PI Vision, PI Historian is (beneficial not mandatory)
  • Experienced in the use of CCMS and Aconex is (beneficial not mandatory)
  • The ability to deal quickly and safely with emerging issues
  • Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Exceptional risk management skills
  • Able to work effectively under pressure
