This role is based out of the Candu Energy Inc. home office in Mississauga, Ontario.
Reporting to the Manager of Retube Tooling Design Engineering in Retube, Inspection and Maintenance Systems, the Engineer/Analyst-Retube Tooling Design would support multiple Refurbishment projects. The candidate will be responsible for developing and/or overseeing the conceptual and detailed design, manufacturing, testing, delivery, and execution support of tooling systems.
Your role within the team:
- Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Assignments have clear and specified objectives requiring investigation of a limited number of variables.
- Assignments normally include system and equipment design and development, design modification, investigation of design difficulties, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, cost estimating and preparation of reports, review of vendor’s documentation, investigation of manufacturing and installation difficulties.
- May be assigned project engineering responsibilities on a technical or commercial endeavour of moderate scope.
- Work is limited in scope and generally related to one field or discipline of engineering, although a knowledge of related fields of engineering and an appreciation of the impact of the work on other areas may be required.
- Completed work is generally accepted as technically accurate and in compliance with policies and procedures and is reviewed for soundness of judgement and feasibility.
- Work objectives are specific, and supervision is usually general; the details of the work are not normally closely supervised but this may vary with the assignment.
- Normally required to plan, schedule, and manage own time, including considering the plans of others.
- Ensures all project training and qualifications records are up-to-date, and required training and qualifications are completed/updated on time.
- Plans and executes work consistent with quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Ensures that work is conducted in accordance with applicable Engineering and Quality Assurance procedures.

The ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 5-10 years of experience practical experience, particularly in engineering design.
- Experienced working in a nuclear facility licensed in Canada would be an asset.
- Holds Professional Engineering designation from PEO or Eligible.
- Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills.
- Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.
- Organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task/ Service orientated.
- Demonstrated ability to support complex and parallel technical projects.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Willing to travel to and potentially work at Project sites to meet project needs on short and/or long-term assignments on an Adhoc basis.
