CANDU performs Reactor inspection and maintenance services to the fleet of CANDU nuclear reactors operating around the world. In addition, we also provide mid-life Reactor Refurbishment services to all our CANDU customers. These activities typically involve the design, build, deployment, and maintenance of specialized robotic tooling used for activities performed within the primary heat transport system (fuel channels, feeders, and steam generators). Our technical staff are experts in the design and use of complex tooling systems deployed during reactor outages in a radiation environment.
The Project Coordinator will report to the Project Manager or the General Manager and will be responsible for the coordination of engineering, procurement, and construction work. This role will require continuous communication with all project team members, and will be responsible for identifying, planning, and implementing various scopes of work.
The candidate is also responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date project data daily, compiling monthly reports, and facilitating daily communication with the Project Manager and Engineering team. This role relies heavily on collaboration with cross-functional teams and assisting the Project Manager in various tasks to ensure project success.
For growth of the candidate, we may also rotate the successful employee through short-term assignments in other CANDU Energy or AtkinsRéalis Nuclear project teams, to expose them to broader parts of the organization. Rotations may include a supporting role in the preparation and execution of CANDU Field Services work. In this event, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting field services teams and ensuring all aspects of work are performed in accordance with contracted scope, and may be requested to perform work on-site, including working in the customer's reactor vault.
This role will be based in Port Elgin, ON.
Your role within the Team:
- Responsible for assigned scope of the project and accountable for performing duties that facilitate work progressing with safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contractual requirements.
- Liaise with key stakeholders as required generally including engineering, construction, quality client & subcontractors.
- Update and maintain project-related information in programs such as Excel, including project timelines and task progress.
- Monitor task assignments, deadlines, and dependencies, and report any deviations for timely resolutions.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of project documentation, including monthly reports and status updates.
- Facilitate daily communication with Engineering team members to gather project updates and ensure project success.
- Maintain a positive relationship with client project counterparts.
- Responsible for helping implement the project schedule for assigned engineering, procurement, construction segments of the project.
- Coordinates the delivery of project deliverables.
- Ensure work is performed within quality program requirements.
- Ensure a strong nuclear safety culture is reinforced continuously.

- Experience supporting various type of projects including construction, manufacturing or engineering services projects considered an asset.
- An appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry considered an asset.
- College Diploma or University degree in Business or Finance will be considered an asset.

- Fluency in other languages (Korean, Mandarin, Romanian, Spanish, French) will be considered an asset.
