The Structural Building Team is currently looking for a Structural Technician to support the growth of the office and the team based out of either Ottawa or Toronto.
Your role within the team
- Establish the structural framework from the engineer’s concept.
- Complete 3D modelling of reinforced concrete, steel or wood structures on Revit software under the supervision of an engineer.
- Participate in the development of structural details and coordinate with stakeholders from other disciplines.
- Participate in cost estimates by extracting quantities from 3D models.
- Conduct, if needed, manual survey or integrate laser scanning data of existing buildings. Provide technical assistance during construction.
- Opportunity to participate in the monitoring of work on-site according to interests.
- Conduct 3D interference detection exercises between various design models. Modelling and full integration of the BIM process on the BIM360 platform.

The ideal candidate
- Completed High School Diploma, College, etc.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in preparation of 3D BIM models and construction documents.
- Knowledge of REVIT software. AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshoper and Tekla knowledge are also assets. Interest in new 3D technologies and the BIM process.
- Relevant experience in building structure and/or industrial structure design. Experience in a consulting engineering firm, architecture or structural detailing company. Ability to work in a team environment.
- Fluency in spoken and written English. French knowledge is an asset.
