Henry Bange

Graduate Consultant

I’m a graduate from Queensland University of Technology with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 2020. I joined the Vehicle Services team in AtkinsRéalis providing engineering support to several transportation projects. I have worked on some very fun and exciting projects such as Queensland Train Manufacturing Project (QTMP) and the Queensland Rail TETRA Radio Project which have helped me grow professionally and personally. AtkinsRéalis has provided me with opportunities to work on some major projects and with some of the most exciting people in the industry. It has been extremely rewarding having played both a minor role in some major infrastructure projects (such as QTMP), and on the contrary being the lead engineer and project manager on the smaller TETRA radio project. Every day brings new challenges, and no two days feel the same here. AtkinsRéalis is a company which strives to drive change forward and I am very excited for what the future holds as we are expanding with many opportunities to be a part of more projects that make a difference.

Shahrzad Akbarzadeh

Rolling Stock Consultant

I graduated from University of Sydney with a Master’s in Architectural Science – Audio and Acoustics. I joined AtkinsRéalis – Lavalin as a Graduate Consultant in 2021 and I have now progressed onto being a Rolling Stock Consultant. As a mechatronics engineer specializing in rail noise and acoustics, I aspire to change the way transport customers experience sound during their daily journeys. AtkinsRéalis provided me the opportunity to learn and enhance my skills as a rail engineer and facilitated my desired career progression by placing me in the right projects and connecting me with the right people. AtkinsRéalis is able to ensure the development and growth of its graduates in the company by being the preferred technical advisor for many of their clients and hence having access to the amazing opportunities any engineer hopes for during their careers. I believe that learning and development is the most important part of job satisfaction. Knowing that I will be learning something exciting every day at AtkinsRéalis is the reason I enjoy coming to work.

Consultant

I have graduated from University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Engineering in 2017. I joined AtkinsRéalis as a Graduate Consultant in the Project Management Team and I’m now Consultant in the organization. I wanted to work in Transport because it’s so critical; everybody needs it for moving around. I have worked on some amazing projects such as Inland Rail, Cross River Rail and Queensland Next Generation Rollingstock which have supported me in my career progression and growth. The best part about this job is that I get an opportunity to contribute to some of the biggest projects in Australia and learning from the experts within. It’s rewarding to step outside your comfort zone and try something new even when it is a bit daunting. I look forward to further develop my skills in Cyber Security and Systems Engineering, by working on our new and diverse projects.

Brendan Cornish

Consultant

I graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in 2018. I joined AtkinsRéalis in 2019 as a Graduate Consultant in the Rolling Stock Engineering Services team and migrated to the Specialist Engineering team soon after. My prior experience working with a passenger rail operator enticed me to pursue a career in rail and I became naturally drawn to AtkinsRéalis given its reputation as a global leader in delivering innovative projects for the rail industry. The greatest part about working at AtkinsRéalis without a doubt is collaborating with and learning from my colleagues. Everyone I have worked with has been incredibly supportive which is particularly important for graduates starting with the industry. Looking ahead to the future, I’m excited to be a part of the organization’s ambitious growth plans and internal transformation projects. I’m enthusiastic about further developing my skills as a bogie and body structures SME and also looking to formally begin the process towards becoming Chartered with Engineers Australia which is being supported by AtkinsRéalis .
