I'm Lee, Project Director at Atkins, a member of the AtkinsRéalis Group. I work in the Technical Professional Organization (TPO) in Denver. I was fortunate enough to participate in the 2019 'Building People Leaders' (BPL) program in the United States. Along with 24 of the best team members that our Engineering, Design & Project Management, and Nuclear businesses have to offer.

Diversity breeds collaboration

We met in Henderson, Atlanta and Miami, professionals from all reaches of the country, each with a unique perspective. Together we covered most of Atkins' groups and organizations. Across HR, Energy, BU’s, TPO and Aviation, everyone's dedication to contributing to the success of our organization resonated throughout the program.

Building teams that thrive

Our sessions focused on the keyword 'BUILD' and moved us from self-awareness through organizational leadership. We learned and explored leadership topics and tools from many different perspectives. This provided us with the valuable skills we're now taking back to our own teams, helping to build on our robust and respected organization.

Genuinely a great place to be

Another treasured outcome of the BPL program is the relationships and friendships that we made. Spending time with like-minded people that have similar drive and vision made for a remarkable experience.

Leadership today vs 20 years ago

The challenges that technology, society, industry and the workforce bring to the consulting field are more complex today than ever before. Facing the future with sharpened skills and renewed team spirit, I'm excited about the future of the organization. I'm also confident that with great leadership and our incredible employees throughout the country, we'll continue our success.
