Assistant Engineer to Lead Design Engineer - Clean Water Modelling (Watergems, WaterCAD)

Responsibilities:

o   Work as part of Atkins’ Clean Water (CW) team

o   Lead the delivery of a range of projects relating to network modelling, water infrastructure design and planning from Bangalore office.

o   Lead day to day liaison with our UK PMs and engineers to ensure project deliverables are developed in accordance with client scope, budget, timescales and quality requirements.

o   Drive innovation and digital delivery culture to the next level.

o   Carryout check and review of the projects, assuring quality delivery right first time.

o   Support the technical development of Engineers, Technicians and Graduates.

o   Support the Team Leader with resource and other management duties.

o   Provide support to business development activates like bid preparations, presentations to potential clients etc.

Requirements

Candidates should have a clear and demonstrable technical understanding of UK urban drainage infrastructure and related issues, including;

Essential qualifications:

o   Bachelor or Masters Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from a recognized University.

o   Professional accreditation from ICE or CIWEM.

o   Minimum 3 -12 years experience, preferably based on delivering projects to the UK Water Industry.

o   Sufficient and appropriate experience of working within a technical environment (Water projects)

o   Able to independently work on data processing and analysis to a high standard.

o   The ability to develop innovative solutions to engineering problems.

o   Working knowledge of software such as InfoWorks, Epanet, SynerGee, Aquis and MapInfo.

o   Working knowledge of British Standards is desirable.

o   Computer literacy e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook

o   Excellent English spoken and written skills within a business environment

o   Working to defined timescales and following an approved methodology will be key features of the role

Desired qualifications:

o   Demonstrable track record of technical achievement and client satisfaction within the water industry

o   Ability to apply technical knowledge in analysing problems and creating solutions

o   Willingness to travel to the UK for short term assignments and training

o   Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments

o   Ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues

o   Well motivated and able to work as part of a team or on individual assignments when required

o   Able to work and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams

o   Flexible approach to work

o   Ability to work on your own initiative

Strong attention to detail and ability to make correct judgments
