Atkins’ Urban Development and Design practice in South East Asia is growing, and we are looking for talented individuals to join our team.  We undertake projects across the region and beyond, ranging from strategic visioning through to detailed masterplanning for everything from small transit oriented developments to large new cities.  Our diverse team brings global experience to our integrated multidisciplinary approach, carefully balancing land use capacity with development requirements and environmental, economic, market and sustainability objectives.

Your role would involve:

  1. Developing masterplans and urban design concepts supported with 3D models and other graphics, preparing well-structured and graphically-compelling reports and presentations, and being responsible for production of drawings and coordination of concept design, schematic design, and detail design documents.
  2. Managing project work effectively and proactively under the guidance of the person in charge, coordinating with team-mates and other consultants/engineering disciplines, or being a part of a team sharing that responsibility.
  3. Showing commitment to raising design standards, improving your skills, keeping up with the latest technical and digital developments and with the field of urbanism generally.

 

Qualification/Requirements:

  1. Completion of a three- to five-year architecture / landscape / urban planning or other relevant degree program with post-graduation completion of a one- or two-year urban design / planning program / degree.
  2. 1-3 years relevant professional experience.
  3. Working knowledge of standard regulations and best practice principles, with strong problem-solving skills.
  4. Understanding of mid- to large-scale masterplanning projects. Knowledge of transit oriented development, industrial and/or leisure/tourism masterplanning projects is a plus.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of specialised graphics software such as Lumion and Rhino or comparable is a plus.
  6. Strong writing and communication skills and ability to clearly describe design concepts with words and images.
  7. Open to periodic travel to client / project locations.
  8. Interest in growing over time into a more senior client-facing role, managing projects, and communicating externally.
  9. Knowledge of and interest in South East Asia is a plus.
