We are looking for Associate Group Engineer-Electrical - Water Treatment -DAILux to join our team. This role will be based at our Atkins office in Gurgaon, India.
We have an extensive portfolio of UK, Overseas and Globally delivered projects, helping our clients address asset creation, process improvement and plant optimisation needs. Our locally focused teams incorporate expert electrical, ICA, process, mechanical and civil engineers who provide a multidisciplinary approach to solving our clients’ problems in innovating, creative, managing, building and investing in water and wastewater infrastructure.
EICA projects we carry out involve some of the following discipline items, including:
- LV and HV (upto33kV) power distribution systems, motor control centres, process instrumentation, process automation and state of the art control systems
- P&IDs, 3D designs, plant visualization and virtual reality techniques
- DSEAR/ATEX and functional safety
- Writing Specifications and reports
- Using our own suite of intelligent design schedules and MCC design tool.
How will you contribute to the team?
- A sound understanding of Electrical engineering principles and their application in Water, Wastewater treatment plant processes and pumping stations.
- Preliminary, Detailed & AFC/IFC electrical and ICA design work (transformers, generators, LVSB, MCC, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, telemetry etc.) including equipment and system specifications, design schedules, drawings: SLDs, BCDs, earthing, lighting, lightning protection, systems architecture diagrams, user requirement specifications (URS/FDS), technical design risk assessments, P&IDs.
- Technical report writing at all stages of the project lifecycle
- Liaison with clients within the UK and worldwide.
- Delivering projects as a part of multidisciplinary, multi-location, multi-party teams
- Preparing profile-raising material such as technical papers and presentations to conferences, staff, internal publications and clients
- Supporting and technically developing less experienced colleagues
- Contributing to new innovative ideas/ making suggestions for innovation
- Working with and developing new automated digital design tools
- Software- AutoCAD working knowledge is essential and AutoCAD, Revit/ Plant 3D would be an added advantage. Should have working knowledge of 3D Models etc. such as Navis works
- Experience on Software’s like Dialux, AMTECH, ETAP etc.
What will you contribute?

- B.Tech/M.Tech qualified with an EICA bias or Electrical; ideally a chartered Member of IET/recognised engineering institution UK.
- A sound understanding of electrical engineering principles and international standards.
- Should be positive and enthusiastic, a confident communicator at all levels, and a team player.
- Have a keen interest in the water/wastewater industry and will ideally have already spent a proportion of your career in the water or a related similar industry that can be applied.
- A developing external profile and reputation; a desire and willingness to raise the profile of oneself and the Company.
- Willingness to contribute to and develop our technical knowledge networks.
- Technically competent and ability to use engineering judgement independently to determine solutions.
- Prepare Technical Reports, specifications and contractual documents of acceptable technical and presentational quality with minimum guidance.
- Apply new ideas/digital idea to improve solutions and processes to improve efficiency.
