TransitNEXT is a wholly owned subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin. As the sole proponent in the TransitNEXT team, SNC-Lavalin is awarded the design, build, finance and maintenance of the new extension, and will also assume responsibility for the long-term maintenance of the existing Trillium Line.

Join TransitNEXT and become part of The Trillium Line Extension project, expanding and enhancing transit services in Ottawa.

As part of the Trillium project based in Ottawa, we are looking for a qualified BIM Coordinator to support the Montreal and Ottawa offices major transportation design and build projects. The incumbent will evolve in a motivated technical team mastering the latest BIM and 3D modeling technologies. Our team benefits from a vast expertise supported by a community of practice which brings together the greatest experts from our various offices in Quebec, Canada and across the world. How will you contribute to the team?

  • Facilitate the implementation of BIM processes and best practices in the project.
  • Audit and review 3D models from designers, architects, consultants and contractors to ensure that they are following the project standards.
  • Manage and update BIM Project Documents and support the adoption of BIM tools across the project.
  • Conduct clash detection and generation of visual walkthroughs of 3D models, prepare clash detection reports and track the resolution of conflicts.
  • Hold weekly coordination meetings with project team members.
  • Support in the early design review and constructability analysis, extracting quantities out of 3D models and preparing weekly reporting.
  • Perform construction sequencing with the 3D models and facilitate the use of 3D models by construction teams.
  • Facilitate the adoption of virtual design and construction processes among consultants and subcontractors through several project phases.
  • Assist in the creation of project specific tender packages for those works in which 3D models are requested.

What will you contribute?

  • Technical or undergraduate degree in Engineering and 2 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of technical trainings and knowledge in a closely related field.
  • Advanced skills in BIM softwares including; Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, NavisWorks and Assemble.
  • Experience in civil infrastructure or building design and construction projects.
  • Experience using in use of analytic reporting tools such as MS PowerBI.
  • Knowledge / understanding of industry practices, processes and standards.
  • On site construction experience is an asset.
  • French and English (spoken and written).
  • Availabile to occasionally visit and work in project offices and on site.
