As part of the SNC Lavalin Group of companies, the delivery of IT is via a function called IT Services (ITS).  ITS is made up of digital, user service, technology and project management experts, working across multiple regions, supporting a wide range of IT solutions to our global business.

The Project Management service portfolio team consists of technical subject matter experts who focus on the solutions used by our business to manage our projects. Covering functionality such as project controls, Scheduling, procurement, and risk and change management.  The team provides technical solutions to drive business success.

The  IT Applications Business Analyst will be responsible for the Implementation, configuration and support of products in the Project Management services portfolio. They will also be responsible to undertake projects and ensure they are delivered on time and on budget. Identify areas for business process improvement and efficiencies and make recommendations to improve existing processes or system functionality.  Maintain process flow, configuration, operations, and user/system documentation.

How will you contribute to the team ?

  • Work with IT teams on Implementation, configuration and support of products in the Project Management services portfolio.
  • Work with global and regional stakeholders to understand business need, propose solutions including new and innovative approaches to solving business challenges .
  • Evaluate existing and new solutions/designs for quality/consistency while ensuring scalability and cost effectiveness.
  • Assist with renewal of legacy platforms from application perspective.
  • Co-ordinate with 3rd party vendors on deployment and support activities.
  • Plan, coordinate and control activities and resources in the execution and delivery of assigned projects.
  • Prepare project statements that specifies their context, objectives, risks, assumptions, and constraints.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to the management.
  • Establish the communication plan.
  • Manage change requests and communicate their impacts to the management.
  • Ensures the smooth transition during project delivery.
  • Planning related to the tasks associated with business analysis and the software development lifecycle (waterfall, iterative, Agile).
  • Risk assessment using methods to identify risk, probability, impact and how to mitigate those risks.
  • Identify areas for business process improvement and efficiencies; make recommendations to improve existing processes or system functionality.
  • Maintain process flow, configuration, operations, and user/system documentation.

What we are looking for?

  • Experience in Project Management / procurement systems including requirements gathering, systems design, configuration, unit testing and integration testing, and software implementation.
  • Expertise in project management, and procurement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in French and English.
  • Must demonstrate creativity and leadership.
  • Solid experience in work team management.
  • Facility for planning, organization, and control.
  • Experience dealing with a complex IT Ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical, design and documentation skills.
  • Flexible approach.
  • Degree level in computer science, Engineering or equivalent.
