Civil Engineer-in-Training

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Supporting, coordinating, and developing geometric design for a variety of road and highway projects.

  • Assisting in the preparation of preliminary and detailed design drawings and reports for multidisciplinary projects.

  • Preparation of 3D digital models of the proposed design.

  • Developing cost estimates based on quantity take-offs and unit prices.

  • Supporting in the preparation of project tender documents.

  • Contributing to or preparing project documentation including design briefs, design criteria, engineering reports, drawings, and specifications to summarize the approach taken and project relevant results.

  • Supporting in the preparation of proposals and fee estimates.

  • Working under the direct supervision of experienced Senior Engineers.

The ideal candidate:

  • An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized educational institution with 0 -2 years of relevant experience.

  • Registered or eligible for registration with EGBC.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Experience with CAD/Civil 3D is considered an asset.

  • Experience with Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Project (asset)).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a positive problem solving and collaborative approach.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English. French language skills are considered an asset.

  • Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments within Canada.

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $67,000 - $85000 annually). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
