Defence Support Digital Lead

The Ministry of Defence would like to explore the benefits of Digital Supportability Cases including the use of digital twins by taking advantage of the customer’s digital backbone investment to gain asset support advantage.

We are looking for an experienced support specialist who can interface with our digital specialists to architect and design digital support solutions including digital twins. 

Your purpose:

  • Be responsible for developing our digital supportability cases capability including the use of digital twins to gain asset support advantage.
  • Establish and lead a team to undertake the functions of our Defence support digital capability and lead our support digital projects through their lifecycles.
  • Work with our engineering and bid teams to establish Supportability Digitisation Plans including capability assessments/mobilisation plans and contribute to the project risk register and tender response.
  • Support the project mobilisation process, working with tools, SMEs and technical leadership to create the digital supportability cases and support digital twin solutions.
  • Provide detailed advice and support to our teams around how changing technologies might help enhance and streamline their individual support processes, and then work with them to implement these technologies and capture the resulting benefits.
  • Optimise delivery, enhance quality, and exceed client requirements, by being innovative and cost effective.

What you will bring?

  • Proven years of experience and acknowledged subject matter expert in the support and/or maintenance domain with the ability to understand and translate customer use cases.
  • Practise in developing support enterprise, commercial and systems processes.
  • Experience of applying standards such as ASD and PLCS.
  • Knowledge in specifying, assuring and accepting Health Usages and Monitoring Systems (HUMS) and any associated HUMS data exploitation systems.
  • Skilled in developing and managing supportability arguments and data sources.
  • A fault and root cause analysis practitioner.
  • Has a good understanding of supply chain management and inventory data exploitation.
  • A good communicator and able to influence the digital solution architect and design team
  • Degree level or equivalent qualification, be a member of a professional institution and be chartered (or working towards chartership). Complimentary or additional qualifications may include Data Systems, Data Analytics and/or Project Management.
  • Experience in delivering a supportability or asset management digitisation programme.
  • Your passion for the subject is something that we’ll want you to share across our teams and clients using your strong communication and collaboration skills.
