Job Title: Designer (CAD) - OPC Chennai

Linxon is a joint venture company set up by SNC-Lavalin and ABB to turnkey electrical AC substation projects. Linxon will undertake turnkey electrical alternating current substation projects related to renewable and conventional power generation, power transmission and transportation solutions. Turnkey solutions will include project design, engineering, procurement, construction, management, commissioning and after-sales support.

The Role:

The Designer – OPC will be a member of Linxon IN OPC-Chennai Engineering Team and will contribute towards the effective operation of the HUB business. The Designer – OPC will work on project/Tender specific activities assigned to the OPC group along with skilled team on a wide range of international T&D substation projects, classified as medium engineering complexity. Create and modify the standard designs of equipment, systems or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction for assignments classified as low to medium complexity by applying standard design concepts.

Knowledge & Skill:

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering.
• 3-5 years’ experience in AutoCAD/MicroStation.
• Hands on experience in working with Electrical Substation Projects with AutoCAD/MicroStation.
• Sound knowledge in preparation of complex design drawings using 2D/3D.
• Add on advantage of hands on experience in BIM modelling

Main Accountabilities:

• Preparation CAD document related to Substation Primary Engineering.
• Reviews and design verification, modifies design as necessary
• Support for risk and opportunity assessments of substation Primary designs.
• Follows work plans for work in one’s area of responsibility and ensures quality deliverables on time.

Interfaces: -

Engineering Team / Project Lead engineer / Engineering Manager:

• Collaboration with OPC drafting team and HUB engineers.
