Job Description:

Atkins Realis has an exciting career opportunity in Egypt for Electrical design engineers with minimum 10 years of experience. Candidates shall have solid experience in design and design review of LV and MV electrical distribution networks for various types of buildings.

Core Responsibilities

  • Handling the design of electrical distribution network components for different types of buildings, previous experience in different types of projects especially High-rise towers, residential, commercial and hospitality buildings.
  • Have the ability to the well understanding and interpretation of international codes and standards (BS, IEC, IET, NEC, NFPA, CIBSE, IESNA, ISO,.. etc.)
  • Familiar with the local country codes of middle east and gulf countries.
  • Preparation of Single line diagrams and distribution network strategy.
  • Preparation of Electrical load Lists & Switchgear/Distribution Board Schedules.
  • Design of medium voltage networks.
  • Sizing of main electrical equipment, Cable sizing, breaker sizing, CT sizing, power factor correction, lighting, earthing & lightning system.
  • Coordination of electrical works with other disciplines.
  • Communicate efficiently with different stakeholders of the project.
  • Experience in working with Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks, and other BIM tools is a must.
  • Proficiency in the following software list:
    • Dialux and Dialux Evo.
    • ETAP.
    • ProDesign.
    • Generator sizing software.
    • Lightning protection calculation software. (IEC, strikerisk,..etc)
    • MS – office.
  • Preparation of technical specifications of different electrical systems and electrical equipment.
  • Preparation of BOQ and take off sheets for electrical systems and electrical equipment.

Core Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in handling intermediate and mega projects in the middle east region within consultancy firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a reputable university with minimum overall grade of “Very Good”.
  • Able to independently deliver work and integrate with larger project team.
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural multilingual environment.
  • Open to new ideas and innovative approaches.
  • Responsible for completion of specifically assigned tasks to time and cost.
  • Able to work as reliable and pro-active member of the team.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent command of English language. (Writing and speaking)
  • Good communication, presentation and listening skills.
  • Writing professional reports.
  • Identifies and communicates concerns to immediate supervisor.
  • Possess capability to take individual responsibilities.
  • Willingness to share information and knowledge with team members.
  • Shows flexibility in work tasks and locations.
  • Able to adjust to changing priorities.
