Highways Engineer

Want to be part of one of the largest transportation consultancies in the UK?  We are running a very successful, growing Strategic Partner Highways Design & Engineering services framework, delivering to Hampshire County Council and working closely with the client, based in Winchester.
The contract covers a wide range of services and brings together colleagues from across the organisation, both in the UK and from our Global Design Centre.  You would be responsible for general highway scheme design and oversight of the maintenance work to ensure both workstreams continue to flourish.
You would be based in Winchester, but with some travel to other Atkins locations within the region to ensure you can deliver value for our Client.
Key responsibilities
•Be an excellent communicator with confidence to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
•Use your excellent analytical skills to derive potential solutions to engineering problems and engineering judgement to appraise and recommend options.
•Assisting with the resolution of engineering problems.
•Undertake designs, production of and review design documentation including sketches, drawings, calculations, reports and specifications.
•Stay abreast of industry developments and changes in standards.
Key requirements
•BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
•Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
•A good track record in civil engineering design, including highways and drainage.
•Ensuring tasks are carried out within agreed timescales and budgets.
•Good knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of civil engineering and highway related projects.
