Finance Business Partner - Project Accounting

Purpose of the Role:

The business partner for ADS&T Project Accounting is responsible for overseeing major frameworks / projects within the division and taking the lead on financial compliance and regulatory reporting requirements across the division.  The role will focus on operational accounting activities for Joint Operations, Single source frameworks and major frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulations, preparing and reviewing bids from a financial perspective, reporting both internal and externally.  The role will work closely with the client, delivery and operational managers to ensure robust accounting procedures are in place.

The role reports directly to the A&D Financial Controller.

Requirements:

  • A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with post qualified experience
    Business partnering experience.
  • Knowledge of Single source regulations and reporting requirements will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of AtkinsRéalis finance processes, standards and systems will be advantageous.
    The role will require some travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational & Financial accounting with regards to Joint Operation, single source frameworks and Major projects.
  • Ensuring that all costs attributed to the delivery of all contracts are captured accurately in the AtkinsRéalis financial management toolsets: working with project teams, respective Market Business Partner, and Operational Leads.
  • Oversee/produce (where applicable), all financial reporting required for the specific project.  Examples of external reports required being Joint Operation accounts and SSRO reporting and internal reporting being the regular monitoring of the risk profile of the SSRO rates.
  • Working with the Client Managers advising on strategic bids and helping to make decisions around growth areas.
  • Assist with CAAS covering the annual audit of the SSRO rates.
  • Pricing and bid support to Project Managers & Directors, including the overseeing the creation and integrity of bid models.
  • Developing the Project Accounting skills within ADS&T, through training and on the job knowledge transfer.
  • Undertake deep dive project review on an Ad hoc basis to ensure compliance with group policies.
  • Responsibility for Research & Development tax credit reporting, PSA reporting and Audit co-ordination.
  • Ad hoc projects and support to the Senior Business Partner.

  • Broad understanding of tax and compliance matters.
  • Strong People skills; comfortable in interacting with operational and financial staff and management at all levels of seniority.
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills.
  • Collaborative approach.
  • Attention to detail whilst still being able to work at a tactical level.
