Pre-requisites:

  • Senior technical Architect, Engineer/team leader/design manager.
  • Specialist or fully qualified professional
  • Overseeing technical input of projects, managing the delivery of projects and or teams.
  • Conversant with PSRs and delivery to cost parameters

Education / Software / Tech Skills: MS Project and RedSky

Job Knowledge:

  • Applied broad professional knowledge and experienced judgement, but knows when to refer to more senior staff
  • Able to present their technical work and that of their colleagues on the project
  • Building relationships with a growing set of clients, networking and promoting the Company
  • Able to discuss in detail with clients the local business technologies and markets
  • Able to respond professionally to enquiries and manage the drafting of successful responses to bids across a range of expertise
  • Conversant with PSR’s
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of work procedures and the ability to brief their project team
  • An effective team member able to apply knowledge gained across multi-disciplinary processes

In addition to the above and depending on their career path are likely to demonstrate some of these competencies:

Technical Role:

  • Authors competent technical reports
  • Demonstrates design ability and/or technical detail capability

Managerial (Project and/or People) Role:

  • Team leader supervising other junior professionals/team.
  • Understands people management issues and can conduct staff development appraisals
  • Fully conversant with the commercial aspects of project management and PSR’s
  • Responsible for completion of projects to time and cost
  • Good knowledge and use of Atkins capabilities outside of business units
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities to gain respect from colleagues
  • Notify schedule/budget warning signs early
  • Responsible for ensuring the team members complete time sheets on time

  • Assigns and delegates tasks to appropriate team members
  • Is developing and increasing reputation internally and externally within their field
  • Lead the work effort by defining the tasks and participating in their execution

Summary: Experienced senior engineer with ability to train less experience team members. Shows clear ability to lead teams. Ready to take complex technical and managerial challenges. Demonstration of ability to assess and appraise junior team members is highly expected.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Be highly self-motivated and ambitious
  • Be able to work with limited supervision
  • Be able to adapt to different cultures and working environments to build rapport with customers
  • Be able to build excellent working relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Have experience of using written and spoken English within a business environment
  • Knowledge in French would be an advantage.
