Group Engineer - Infrastructure Drainage

Atkins Civil Engineering & Advanced Technology Practice are looking to appoint an Group   Engineer to work on a wide range of water/ wastewater and associated Infrastructure Drainage projects - including treatment works, pipeline & pumping stations and collection & storage systems.

This key post will be based out of our Bengaluru, India office and will offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity to apply knowledge, experience and problem solving skills whilst providing good opportunities for career development. Qualification

B.E. Civil , Preferred Masters in Environmental/water resource Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring successful delivery of projects by working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Supervise project teams in the production of feasibility studies, detail design and construction drawings, specifications and technical reports.
  • Carrying out technical reviews and checking design work carried out by other team members
  • Production and review of designs for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes
  • Embrace digital engineering and promoting innovative engineering design solutions
  • Acting as a mentor to other team members, potentially with line management responsibility
  • Management of projects to programme and budget
  • Liaison with clients and discussing technical solutions in the delivery of civil engineering to stakeholders including technical and non-technical clients – both in projects and at tender stage
  • Able to lead and contribute to winning work, through production of fees, scopes and quality answers in response to client tenders

Requirements:

  • A strong technical background, including first principles analysis and use of relevant UK, US , Middle east and international codes and standards.
  • Good understanding of BIM and its application in the water industry
  • Previous 10-15 years experience of design of infrastructure drainage like track, Highway and mixed use development drainage design.
  • Ensuring successful delivery of projects by working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Experience in the use of design software (Storm CAD , Inroads, Microdrainage any other )
  • Supervise project teams in the production of feasibility studies, detail design and construction drawings, specifications and technical reports.
  • Highly motivated, self driven and with a strong desire to promote technical excellence within project teams and wider Atkins team/practice
  • Acting as a mentor to other team members, potentially with line management responsibility
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Clients and colleagues alike.
  • Flexible approach to work, including occasional overseas working/visits if required.
  • Desirable, UK Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Knowledge in French would be an advantage
