Junior Bid Manager – West Country based.

Role Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Aerospace, Defence, Security & Technology (ADS&T) business unit for a Junior Bid Manager to join our existing Win Work team to help pursue the exciting business opportunities which underpin our growing business.

We are looking for a good team player with strong administration skills. The ideal candidate must have good communication skills, be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. The candidate must also be able to use their own initiative.

Requirements:

Qualifications-

  • Preferably educated to degree level, but not essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.

Essential Criteria-

  • Previous experience in bid management through the procurement lifecycle.
  • Previous experience in the delivery of bids and proposals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in writing and verbally.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise.
  • Calm when working under pressure.
  • Ability to work both individually and within a team environment.
  • Flexible on working hours and location as and when required.

Desirable Criteria-

  • Able to travel to other offices as and when required.
  • Experience in using SharePoint (preferable but not essential).
  • Experience in using a Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) in a commercial environment to support the tracking and management of opportunities (preferable, but not essential).

Responsibilities:

  • To support the Market Bid Directors and other Bid Managers in the development of bid responses, in accordance with customer requirements, prompting the Bid team to ensure that commercial requirements and processes are addressed and completed in accordance with the Engineering Services Win Work Process.
  • To monitor and manage shared mailboxes and distribute emails accordingly.
  • To analyse and identify the suitability of opportunities received by emails and distribute them accordingly.
  • To log and update opportunities onto the CRM system.
  • Arrange meetings required during the bid process including PQQ/ITT kick-off meetings, stage gate reviews, storyboarding sessions, lessons learned etc.
  • Liaise with graphics as/when necessary to support bids.
  • Contribute to the bid knowledge library and undertake periodic reviews to ensure all content is up to date and applicable.
  • Provide support to any ad-hoc tasks as directed by Business Development Director, Client Directors and Client Managers.

Additional Information:

Travel to other AtkinsRéalis UK offices will be required from time to time.
