Junior User Experience & User Interface Designer
This is an exciting opportunity for a junior user experience and interface designer to work closely with our UX/UI team within Creative Design. We’re looking for someone with growing user centred design skills, who can communicate their ideas and process clearly, engages well with colleagues and is looking for a challenge.
The person for this role will be hungry to learn from other designers and technical disciplines in a fast-paced, progressive environment. You will be supported by the UX/UI team, working cohesively with the web development team and creative designers to deliver world class engaging websites and web applications that focus on the user’s needs and the business goals of the client.
This role offers great scope to grow your skillset, whether you’re consulting on user flows, developing wireframes and prototypes for an MVP or designing the user interface for a platform. You will need to be comfortable adapting to different projects across a range of markets and thrive in the ambiguity of a challenge. There’s a huge opportunity to bring greater value to our variety of engineering, infrastructure and architectural design projects. You will bring your ideas, passion and problem-solving approaches to help us deliver fresh, digital solutions. You will have the opportunity to support workshops virtually (and eventually face-to face), as well as conducting user feedback sessions. Being a collaborative team player is key, ensuring that your work is reviewed and delivered to the highest standard, both visually and technically. The team are currently working remotely due to COVID-19.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for designing, amending and implementing digital initiatives driven by user needs
- Comfortable with problem solving in order to resolve design challenges
- Support the UX/UI team on large scale projects
- Support seniors in user testing sessions
- Collaborate with team members and clients to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
- Create prototypes that can communicate to clients/customers for user testing
- Comfortable in creating high fidelity user interfaces.
- Collaborating with Designers and Developers to create intuitive, user-friendly software
- Raise awareness of the importance of user experience to clients
- Support seniors with client workshops in order to gather requirements and evolve designs
- Collaborate with project managers and developers through the project lifecycle to ensure high quality delivery
- Communicate time required and time spent on project tasks to seniors
- Continuously enhance knowledge and keep up with emerging trends in design
Required skills
- Good problem solving skills, attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable stretching your knowledge to work in VR, AR and XR
- Comfortable in getting stakeholder engagement
- Understanding of designing thinking and human centred design principles
- Able to communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers
- Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
- Basic knowledge of interaction design and information architecture

Desirable experience
- 1+ years experience in an agency environment or for a well-known product would be beneficial
- Have some experience in producing digital solutions for multiple clients or markets would be beneficial
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
- Some knowledge of Scrum and Agile development methodologies
