We are seeking a Lead Structural Engineer - Federal to join our team in Exton, PA or Orlando, FL, to lead and work on various Structural Engineer and Federal projects. Position requires working on fast paced technically complex design/build projects in the Federal space. The incumbent independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials in other organizations.

How will you contribute to the team?
Typical duties and essential functions will include but not be limited to the preparation, design, modification, coordination, and/or review of the following.
- Prepare calculations determining building dead, live, wind, and seismic loads, and determine structural systems to support gravity and withstand lateral loads.
- Determine member stresses and sizes using structural analysis programs and back-check results using manual calculations.
- Design concrete foundations, retaining walls, steel frames, masonry walls for buildings.
- Coordinate architectural requirements of structural systems with architect, HVAC engineers, plumbing engineers, electrical engineers.
- Act as Lead Structural Engineer on projects and provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
- Execute projects varying in size with a focus on projects of larger scope and/or higher technical complexity.
- Prepare construction specifications.
- Participate in as-built drawing effort.
- Provide technical support during construction for all activities.
- Ensure the quality of design documents.
- Reinforce an atmosphere of safety and a commitment to design excellence.
- Complete Quality Management Training and comply with the program upholding a commitment to a culture of quality in all aspects of work.
- Work directly with clients to define project requirements and deliver appropriate solutions to meet the stated needs based on a defined budget and schedule. This work is done in conjunction with structural engineering team members and members of other disciplines.
What will you contribute?
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering.
- Minimum Ten years of experience in structural design.
- Knowledge of UFCs is a must.
- Experience with UFGS is a must.
- Experience with ATFP and the PDC is a must.
- Prefer experience in design-build or other alternative delivery.
- Prefer both CONUS and OCONUS experience.
- Prefer experience with progressive collapse & blast design.
- Prefer NCEES model law SE and/or an SE in a western state such as CA, WA, OR, or AK.
- DoD experience not required but strongly preferred.
- Experience with NGB, VA, GSA, DoS, USCG, and others could be relevant depending on project type.
- Preferred experience in lateral designs in high seismic regions.
- Knowledge of AISC 341, Chapter 18 AISC 18.
- Experience as Engineer of Record on Major Design Projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of RISA or STAADPro software is a plus.
- RevitStructure experience is a plus.
- AutoCAD.
- Professional Structural Engineer License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills allowing for effective communication in multidisciplinary project teams involving representatives from the client, various departments within AtkinsRealis, and other consultants and contractors.
- Results-oriented, with good organization skills, attention to detail, and the capability of efficiently working simultaneously on multiple projects.
- Positive perspective with the ability to engender a team attitude amongst colleagues and clients.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Additional hours may be necessary as workload dictates.
- Travel to client sites required.

Expected compensation range is between $125,000 - $150,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
